HiLynx (the "Service") lets you film ice hockey games and practices, tag events, stream live and store recordings in the cloud. The Service consists of the iPhone app "HiLynx Capture", the iPhone and iPad app "HiLynx Train", the iPad app "HiLynx Vision", the web service "HiLynx Studio" (hilynx.app) and the servers behind them. This policy explains how we handle user information across the Service.
1. Information we collect
- Account information: email address, name (display name) and password (stored as a hash).
- Recordings and related data: video files you upload, thumbnails, tags (events such as goals and saves with their timestamps), team names, scores, player names and jersey numbers. This data is sent to our servers only when you choose to upload it.
- Live streaming data: start and end times of a stream, scoreboard contents and the number of devices viewing the stream page. Video is delivered through Amazon IVS (Amazon Web Services).
- Payment information: payments for paid features are processed by Stripe. Card numbers and similar details are never stored on our servers.
- Device and usage information: app version, error reports and access logs (IP address, date and time).
2. Device features used by HiLynx Capture
- Camera and microphone: used only to record video and to stream live.
- Photo library: accessed only when you choose to save a recording or QR code, or to import an existing video.
- Motion sensors: used to estimate the puck zone (defensive, neutral or offensive) from the camera direction while recording.
This data stays on your device unless you explicitly upload or stream it.
2-2. HiLynx Train (practice video comparison)
HiLynx Train works without an account and does not send any of your information to our servers. Video analysis (body pose detection and measurements) runs entirely on your device.
- Camera and microphone: used only to film your practice (the microphone is optional; without it, videos are recorded without sound).
- Photo library: accessed only when you choose videos to compare, or save a recording or an exported comparison video.
- Saved results (history): stored only on your device and removed when you delete the app.
3. How we use information
- To provide the Service: storing, playing, sharing, tagging and reviewing videos
- To share videos, lessons and evaluations among teams, parents and coaches, only within the audience you choose
- To provide paid features, process payments and issue receipts
- To investigate problems, improve the Service and keep it secure
- To respond to your inquiries
4. Sharing with third parties and processors
We do not provide personal information to third parties without your consent, except where required by law. We use the following processors to operate the Service:
- Amazon Web Services (storage of videos and data, live streaming)
- Stripe, Inc. (payment processing)
5. Who can see your videos
Uploaded videos can be viewed only by you and by the people you have allowed (team staff, friends, parents and so on). A live stream page can be viewed only by people who have the URL issued by the streamer, together with the optional passphrase.
6. Retention and deletion
Videos and account information are kept until you delete them or close your account. You can delete videos at any time from the app or the web. To delete your account, contact us at the address on the support page.
7. Security
All traffic is encrypted with TLS and access to stored data is limited to authenticated users. Video files are kept in private storage and are served only through expiring URLs.
8. Children's information
Under the supervision of teams and parents, the Service may handle the names, jersey numbers and game footage of youth players. This information is registered by a team's coaches or by parents with the player's consent, and it is never made available beyond the audience the team or parents have allowed.
9. Changes to this policy
Changes to this policy will be announced on this page. For significant changes we will also notify you in the app or by email.
10. Contact
For questions about this policy or about how we handle personal information, please use the contact details on the support page.
